After Shops and Restaurants, Now Metro Stations in Bengaluru Attracting Startups

A startup hub is predicted to be launched at Trinity station soon

CandorHUB, a startup incubator by Candor Management Services, a professional employer organization (PEO), had declared a tie-up with the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) some months ago. This hub is nearly prepared for launch, say officials. it’ll offer startups with space, mentorship and support services similarly as host pitch-day events to assist budding start-ups in presenting their products to investors.

“The BMRCL needs to released space in different stations to support such startups. it’s nice to see such projects come up within stations. we wish Namma Metro to be representative of the IT capital of the country. there’s lots of interest from companies and we are considering providing area for startups at different stations similarly,” said a senior BMRCL official.

Last year, BMRCL had invited startups to line up shop in Baiyappanahalli, S.V. Road, Indiranagar, Halasuru and Trinity stations. The eligibility criteria to bid for these areas had been relaxed to attract more applicants. “With an increase in footfalls, stations have become engaging as workplace locations,” the official said.

In the coming weeks, an IT company {is expected|is predicted|is anticipated} to launch an incubation center at Vijaynagar station.

“We can shortly necessitate tenders to lease space at the Indiranagar station and other stations, that see large footfalls every day,” the official said.

For corporations, the concept of getting a space at a metro station is appealing. “Imagine catching a metro on to your office. the issue of last-mile connectivity is solved and companies do not have to shell out exorbitant rates for space in common locations,” explained Arvind Singh who works together with his team during a shared operating space in Indiranagar.
