The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has revised the schedule for the second extended round seat allotment for engineering courses.
Keeping in mind the interest of students, who after the announcement of second round seat allotment for medical courses, will look at getting engineering seats, the KEA has decided to conduct the second extended round of seat allotment for engineering courses after the announcement of second-round medical seat allotment results.
With the revised schedule, the second extended round for engineering courses will be held between August 11 and 14. As per the earlier schedule, it was supposed to be held on August 8. Speaking about it, Vinoth Priya, Executive Director KEA, said, “Some students who are waiting for second round medical seat allotment results to get over as some of the seats at top engineering college will be made available then if the students who have taken engineering seats to get a medical seat in the second round. So we have decided to postpone the process for a second extended round for engineering courses.”
As per the information, the results of the seat allotment for medical courses under second round will be announced on August 11. “We need a few hours to rearrange the returned seats in engineering courses that medical aspirants return after getting seats in the second round medical allotment. By the evening of August 11, we will allow engineering aspirants to enter their options and by August 14, we will announce the results of the real allotments,” explained Vinoth Priya.
This reschedule is going to benefit hundreds of students, who are waiting to get engineering seats. The decision to reschedule the calendar was taken during the visit of State Higher Education Minister GT Devegowda to KEA office on Tuesday.
If the second extended round seat allotment had happened as per earlier schedule, then the seats that the medical aspirants would surrender after the second round medical seat allotment would be of no use.
