When the train halted, the doors to the train did not open, and passengers on the platform, who had seen the man jumping, began to move away from the platform.

The man has sustained serious head inj’uries and has been shifted to Victoria Hospital, police said.

BMRCL, however, has not disclosed the man’s identity. The Basavanagudi Police have been informed of the incident and have rushed to the spot. Train services have been disrupted for over an hour along the green line’s Nagasandra-Yelachenahalli route.

Train services between Nagasandra and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Stations were disrupted for over an hour. They have since resumed.

This is the second such incident reported in Bengaluru. In 2012, a 16-year-old boy had jumped off the platform of MG Road Metro Station and had died. Metro officials had tightened security in every metro station since the first incident was reported.
