Amazon India launches Amazon Fresh store in India
Amazon India has launched the Amazon Fresh Store in India via its e-retail platform, Amazon.in. Amazon customers can now get their daily essentials delivered to their homes within a span of two hours at time slots that are convinient to them.
The Amazon Fresh Store will be powered by the company’s Prime Now service, which was earlier available only on the separate Prime Now app, as a part of which the company will delivery groceries to the customers in two hours from 6AM in the morning to 12AM in the night. Customers can select any time slot that is convinient to them to order their daily essentials.
The Prime Now app meanwhile, as Amazon India explained, will continue to serve customers in Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
The Amazon Fresh store on Amazon.in will give the Prime members an exclusive access to the fastest two-hour delivery slots for Rs 49. The company said that all customers will get convenient two-hour delivery slots from 6 AM to midnight with free delivery for orders above Rs 600. A delivery fee of Rs 29 will be charged on orders below Rs 600.
Amazon India has piloted its Amazon Fresh Store service for select pin-codes in Bengaluru. The company is planning to roll out the same service in other Indian cities soon.
“With Amazon Fresh, customers can experience the convenience and speed of ordering daily essentials on Amazon.in. Now, customers can order the freshest fruits and vegetables as well as everyday grocery and get it within 2 hours. We are starting this service in Bengaluru and will soon roll this out to customers in other cities,” Siddharth Nambiar, Director – Category Management, Amazon India said in a statement.
It is worth noting that the launch of the Amazon Fresh store service in Bengaluru comes a day after the Seattle based tech giant inaguarated its biggest campus building outside the United States in Hyderabad. The building is spread over 9.5 acres of land and is built to house more than 15,000 employees of its over 62,000 workforce in India.
